Essex County Regional Emergency Communications Center Fire Advisory Board MINUTES OF THE MEETING November 9, 2011 The Essex County Regional Emergency Communications Center Fire Advisory Board held a public meeting on November 9, 2011 at Angelica’s Restaurant, 48 South Main Street, Middleton, MA 01949 at 8:30AM. Board Members Present: Chief Ronald Giovannacci – Topsfield Fire Chief Jonathan Brickett – Amesbury Fire Chief Frank Twiss – Middleton Fire (Left meeting at 8:55AM) Chief Paul Cotter – Beverly Fire Chief Daniel Doucette – Essex Fire Board Members Absent: Chief Bob Blanchard – Wenham Fire The Fire Advisory Board meeting was called to order at 8:40AM. NEEMS- C-MED Jonathan Epstein of NEEMS and Tom Dubas present for this portion of meeting to discuss the feasibility of having Northeast C-MED housed in the RECC. Annual cost to run C-MED is $525-535,000.00 currently located at Lawrence General Hospital, with 100,000 C-MED contacts per year. Discussion of staffing requirements, current equipment, needed improvements and funding sources. General discussion was that this made sense to have it in the RECC and further research should be done. MEETING MINUTES None available from last meeting OLD BUSINESS Kimball Associates preparing RFP for CAD system. Once advertised, Kimball will narrow companies to 3-4 vendors who will then demonstrate/ present the product to RECC advisory groups in an effort to select a product. Kimball will then negotiate the technical aspect, requirements and price with selected vendor. Grant money from State not available until March 2012 for the purpose of CAD purchase. Building construction meeting today. Footings are in and site work continuing. Director search is narrowed to 3 finalists. An assessment center will evaluate and interview candidates first week of December in an effort to name Director by January 1st, 2012. Once director in place, he/she will begin addressing start up issues including staffing and training. NEW BUSINESS None ADJOURNMENT MOTION: There being no further business, Chief Brickett moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:07AM. Chief Cotter seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
